Dr Smolyar and his staff provide terrific patient care. Thorough in the exam process and the Dr will take time to answer any questions no matter how busy he is.

Made appointment for a specific issue I am having. Explained to the lady when making the appointment and the Dr. She recommended me seeing specialized in my issue. Waited two months finally had the appointment gave me a regular eye exam which I did not need which I explained I had an eye exam in Nov one month ago.
Dr. Came in didn't listen to anything I had to say had to repeat myself with the symptoms I was having. One of the symptoms I'm having is headaches said vision and headaches have nothing to do with each other. I think that was a. Complete bs statement but hey your the professional. When I left upset about waiting so long and not resolving my issues they have me pay for a charge they said the insurance doesn't cover. If there is a procedure you are going to do and it isn't covered by someone's insurance let them know ahead of time so they have the option to accept or decline. Will never go back!

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Albert Smolyar at Southwest Florida Eye Care. He is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and took the time to explain everything clearly and patiently. I never felt rushed, and all my questions were answered with care and professionalism. The office staff was also courteous and efficient. I truly felt I was in very capable hands and would highly recommend Dr. Smolyar to anyone looking for a skilled and compassionate ophthalmologist.

I’ve been going to Southwest Florida eye care since I moved to Florida 15 years ago. Dr. Marhue and his staff are extremely friendly and outgoing Dr. Marhue himself listens to what you say and tries to correct your problems. If it’s something that needs more, he will recommend you to wherever you need to go. I can’t say enough good about them.

Friendly, helpful, honest, thorough service. I came here for a second opinion about cataracts. Chose them over another provider because: First ophthalmologist/optometrist to actually listen to me and help with me with my dry eyes. Solved the dry eyes. Very patiently answered my eye questions. Then had the in-depth eye exam, followed by cataract surgery.
Here is a truly nice thing: Unlike another provider, Dr. Smolyar did not try to up-sale me for a surgery for my other eye that has a cataract but not to the point that it is a problem. It may need surgery later or it may not, time will tell. Another point is their lenses to correct for astigmatism was 3/5 the cost (which insurance does not cover).
Very happy with the results and very happy I chose to get a second opinion with Dr. Smolyar. This office is not ran like a corporate machine trying to squeeze you. Everyone at the office was helpful and friendly, and not in a fake way.

I've been with Southwest Florida Eye Care for over 20 years. Dr Brian Marhue has been my doctor all this time. I have had the very best care from him anyone could hope to receive. He has always looked out for me and helped me to make the best decisions regarding my eyes. I've never met a doctor who cares so much for his patients. Very happy with everything

I shared a review and it was not good and somehow it has been deleted. I wasn’t aware that if it was not a good review you could just delete it and not even respond. That must make
Your review numbers great, if you do not like the review just delete it. SMH! I have called and went to the office to complained and gotten no where, obviously we have a lack of customer service care. I get my eyes checked, pay my 50$ copay, then I get a bill from this company for another 60$, I go to the office and am told that was for them to test me for My prescription, I’m sorry that what I came in for, I nor anyone I have spoken to have never been charged extra on top of the visit to figure out my prescription.
You may keep Deleting the messages and reviews but until someone talks to me, I will continue to give the review.

The office environment is very nice.
The office staff were efficient and helpful. Knowing that I was apprehensive they made me feel calm.
My eye exam went well.
The surgeon explained the procedure to remove the cataracts. Scheduling was very easy.

After being bought by US Eye, you will absolutely never get them on the phone. I've been trying for 2 weeks to have a surgery scheduled. At this point, I will literally have to take off work to go there in person to do this face to face--hopefully--after they told me to call following my last appointment. Ridiculous. Then when they do leave a message, it's at 4:57 p.m. and when you call back, the answering service quite rudely let's you know they CLOSE AT 5:00, so that's very helpful and much appreciated.

Southwest Florida Eye was a great experience. Didn’t wait long at all . Rebel the tech was awesome. She made me feel very comfortable and at ease. Dr. Smolyar was attentive and extremely friendly. Highly recommend!!!
